Firstly, more than what? What are you comparing to? let’s assume this question is to consider the difference between a kitchen from a large DIY outlet and an independent bespoke kitchen showroom.
In this instance the simple answer would usually be yes, it is worth paying more and this is why:

What is the quality of the glues, materials, and equipment when compressing the MFC? Is the melamine foil of similar quality? Probably not… Will the joins blow if you get a small leak under your sink? There are many quality issues to consider when comparing the quotes of kitchen companies.
