Kitchen Showroom Near Swindon
Where is a kitchen showroom near Swindon?
There are many kitchen showrooms in or near Swindon. It really depends what type of kitchen you are looking for and what you want from the showroom.
Types of Kitchen Showrooms
Sheds
These include places like B&Q, Wickes and the kitchen showroom in The Range, their name I cannot recall. Most will hold a low-cost stock off the shelf and are very much aimed at the DIY market, if you want a DIY kitchen then one of these outlets will be a good starting point. However, there is often an installation service available at these places as well, for example, Magnet offer an off the shelf product and also a kitchen installation service.
Trade
Trade showrooms such as Howdens and builders merchants like Jewson typically only deal direct to trade customers who have an account with them, there showrooms are somewhat limited but they might carry stock of their kitchens. The range and quality will vary but will be limited to whatever it is that they supply. All are most likely to offer a design service but you may need to go through a local trades person to use that service.
Independent
The smaller local companies such as ourselves at Olivestone, usually owned by one or two directors who also undertake the design work and / or the project management. Most independent showrooms will have access to the entire kitchen market and therefore be able to offer a much wider range of products meaning they can deliver whatever it is you desire from your new kitchen. The designers will be vastly experienced and have a deep understanding of installing a kitchen as well as the design process. As owner of Olivestone, I have undertaken many kitchen installs myself and have a very broad experience of building work in general. You’ll get a premium hands-on, attention to detail service when you choose an independent but expect to pay a little more.

Dedicated Larger Showrooms
In Swindon we have a Wren showroom, Hobsons Choice and Optiplan, all larger kitchen showrooms. If we look at Wren then the showroom is huge, if you want to see lots of different layouts with various combinations then Wren is a good starting point, however, before ordering with any kitchen company, do some due diligence and check their customer service reviews and track record. There are plenty of happy customers who have used these larger kitchen showrooms, some are happy, some are very much not, do your own research before committing to a sale.
Don’t be rushed into buying a kitchen by any sale or special deal that’s coming to an end. I have worked in the kitchen industry for over twenty years, these big companies will always have an offer better than the last, and, all will offer a price promise. Take your time and don’t be rushed into a decision.
